Baby S's First Jump on a Trampoline

Baby S had a great time today. It was her first time on the trampoline.

Baby S crawls in circles chasing what Hannah calls her "dog".

At Willis Park in Alpharetta

We stopped at a nice park on the way back from our friend Hyosook's house. Today is the day we picked up Esther from the airport and took her to stay with her friend Hyosook. Esther is a missionary wife whose husband will join her in about a week. They will rent our house in Doraville for the next year. They have been misisonaries in Romania for a long time and they are here on a sabatical.

David Studying

David is working on English grammar, spelling, pronunciation, etc. daily in his workbook. He is also reading a lot of children's books with rhymes to help his pronunciation, intonation and fluency. I sometimes give him a voice recorder and a headphone with a microphone so he can record his voice as he reads. It'll be nice to hear him in a few months and compare to see his progress!

Visa Denied on Second Attempt

I can't believe it! They did it again. Even on the second attempt to get a student visa, Julie was turned down. I think I've gotten over the initial shock, but now it is time for action. Please pray that my efforts are successful as I write a letter to the embassy and call my congressman about this issue. Thank you!

Family Reunion, 2008

Meissen and Alice Hsu are staying with us for a couple of weeks. This was their second time at our family reunion in Griffin (my mother's side of the family). My cousin Linda has a nice piece of property for us to meet at. We appreciate all she does to host the event. The kids had a great time on the water slide. David and I seemed to be on opposite sides of the house, so I don't have any photos of him here.

We love our dining room!

We are so blessed to have this dining room and table. Our friends the Hsu's had plenty of room when they came for diner.
Baby S got her first taste of chocolate pudding, too!

Jumping for Joy!

Our friends, the Konos from Japan sent the girls a money gift, and we added a little to it and bought a trampoline for them. I bought the trampoline from someone who was selling it on Craigslist. It was new in the box, too! It's a great way to buy and sell because you get to meet people in your neighborhood and help each other out. It turns out that Brooke, the lady who sold us the trampoline, works at Northside hospital delivering babies with my second cousin Leah. How cool!

Jihyun's and Giwon's Second Interviews

After some time to recover from the rejection they received the last time, Jihyun and Giwon will try again to get their student visas. They have to travel to the American Embassy in Seoul each time. They decided to take them on separate days. Julie, the 5th grade daughter will try on the morning of the Friday the 18th, and William, the 3rd grade son will try on Tuesday the 23rd. We need your prayers that God would open the door for them both to be able to come. Thank you!

Baby S on a Thrill Ride

Baby S was crying on the deck and I realized it was because she couldn't follow her sister down the ramp like she wanted to. At last she was ready to try it herself. She fearlessly charged down the ramp and was pretty much in control of her walker. We were all impressed!

Suzie and the Lizard

I thought it strange that Suzie had scratched a lot of bark off the pine tree in the rear deck. But after looking around, I found out what she was after--a lizard!

Swimming at Indian Springs

This was, believe it or not, our first swimming trip this summer. It was hard to wait this long, since kids and swimming and summer go together so well, but we have been really busy.
David enjoyed the park and said it was his first time swimming in a lake.

Dickey Farms Peach Packing Plant

Today we went south for our annual trip to the veterinarian for Suzie. Since it is near Forsyth, we were able to visit Grandpa and go together to a peach packing plant/store called, Dickie Farms. Here are the photos. We also tried putting Summer in a regular car seat for the first time. She didn't mind it at all! Click here for a map to see where this packing plant is.

Across from the packing plant. Check out the vehicles on the trailer at the gas station.

If you don't mind picking through the overripe bruised and cut peaches, you can get a box of vine ripened peaches for only $6 a box. Watch Baby S enjoying peach ice cream. Yummmm! Yummmm!
