Ping Pong, Anyone?

I have been wanting a ping pong table, but Duk-Sun and I weren't sure we had the space, but I'm over it now--now that I discovered we can play ping pong on our dining room table. Yea!!

Bulgogi Dinner with Robert

Robert is Jason's brother who attends high school not far away. We had him over so he could spend a couple of nights with his brother. Duk-Sun made a special bulgogi dinner for them. It was sooo good!

At Town Center Mall

YooJeong's eyes lit up when we mentioned shopping, so I took her to the mall. Here are a few shots.

Korean Food for a Change

After church on Sunday, we went to H-Mart and took Hyebin along with us so she could have some Korean food for a change. One of the most stressful parts of being far from home is not having the familiar tastes, smells and textures you are used to, so it can be a real treat for overseas visitors to have some of their native food. For Koreans, they love kimchi and spicy ramen noodles a lot, and for Japanese, they can survive a trip here if they carry instant miso soup packets with them and eat rice as often as possible.
As you can see she really enjoyed her spicy ramen noodles.
YooJeong had Cha-Jang Myun
Hannah and Mom had Kimpop
Jason had Tokkpokki
I had bibimpop

A Short Trip to My Parents' House

Talk about a short trip that was really a long trip! With holiday traffic, it took us 4 hours to go to Forsyth, GA and back (85 miles one-way), and since we left right after lunch our visit was only for about 4 hours. We had a good time, but I think I must have been too tired to take more than a few pictures.

My sister Crystal with her new son Collin. Her husband Matt was in the other room in a really comfortable chair watching TV.

David's Family Goes on a Trip

David and his family departed today on a very long trip. They will go to Orlando, Miami, and then to Washington, D.C. It's a total of about 1800 miles. I'm glad they can go on this family trip together. And I'm thankful that gas prices are low for them, too. Bon voyage!

Christmas Day

We read the Christmas story on Christmas Eve, and the next morning was Christmas Day. We opened presents, and since God blessed us with such a gorgeous day, we went walking in the Chattahoochee River park nearby. We had a nice time!

David's Dad, HongJin Arrives

Christmas Eve morning we went to the airport to pick up David's dad. I was quite impressed with his parents. They speak English (and even Japanese) quite well. Even their son Kevin conversed with me right off the bat in the car. Although the visit was short, we feel like we know them a little bit better.

David's brother Kevin is considering attending Dominion Christian High School, so we took him over there to see the campus. Too bad we couldn't take a full tour of the school when it was in session.

The Sulser's Stop By

With the exception of ChongHwa, who had to stay behind and take care of her mother with the flu, the Sulser's stopped by on their way back to Raleigh, NC. The kids got along and played really well together, and Hannah was very upset to see them go. We're looking forward to them moving back to Atlanta someday soon.

Charles and Carol Play Santa

Our former neighbors, Charles and Carol came and brought a bag full of gifts for the kids. Jason kept saying they were like Santa himself.

David's Mom and Brother Arrive

David's mom Youngshin and his brother Kevin came today. We had to miss church because their flight arrived at 9:30. David didn't like missing church, but he sure was glad to see his mom and brother.

Baby S thinks the massager control handle is some kind of phone.

Bible study.

Walking around.
