To celebrate my birthday, we went to
Fort Mountain State Park for the weekend. I chose that park because of the miles and miles of mountain bike trails! I broke both arms 2 years ago on my mountain bike, which rendered me unable to ride for a while, so it was so nice to be back on the trails again this year. The weather couldn't have been better--low 50s at night, high 60s in the daytime.

Our cabin was nice and had been recently renovated. It had 2 bedrooms.

There was a small lake nearby with an easy walking path around it.

Jason on a log. He had one foot in the lake a few seconds after this!

Baby S in the sand. She liked the way it felt better than the way it tasted.

We took a spin on the paved roads and carried Hannah with us.

Then, David and I rode about 7 miles on the trails.

The trees were at their peak. It was spectacular!

I was confused about the trails. According to the map and the markings on the trees, we seemed to be on the right trail. But we had actually ventured down a hiking trail by mistake. It was wide for a while before it narrowed like this.

We used the cell phone to ask a park ranger why the trail was wrong. Within minutes, we had help. It turns out, a mile or so earlier we had maneuvered around an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) on a downhill slope and had been so busy staring at the people in the ATV, that we missed our turn. This is Derek, the park ranger speeding off to wait at the next intersection for us so we wouldn't miss it again.

After we got back on the right trail, it wasn't long until we came to this overlook. Breathtaking, isn't it!

We heard an owl hooting right through these trees.

After getting back to the cabin, we found Hannah and Baby S anxiously awaiting their chance to ride again.

Having family time at the cabin. We read in Romans about how God's invisible qualities can be seen by the visible world He created.

While we packed up, David and Jason took Baby S for a stroll.
