I wish I had more photos of our first day going to Alabama. Fact is, since we had gone tubing the day before, none of us were our usual energetic selves. We finally got packed, ready and on the road at around 4:30pm. Here we are grabbing a bite at a Hardee's hamburger restaurant. Jiung decided he'd take some rice and kimchi, so he's eating that.

When we arrived at the campsite, which was up on a mountain overlooking Huntsville, it had just gotten dark. As we checked in at the host couple's campsite, there came a tremendous downpour. Duk-Sun tried to get me to go look for a cabin or a hotel. We prayed and guess what! The rain stopped long enough for us to get our tents up, which was about 2 hours. Setting up a 12-man tent in the dark on a windy mountain in the rain with lots of helpers who don't speak English and who all forgot to bring their raincoats was rather interesting, especially because we didn't know when the rain would start back. When the 12-man tent and the 6-man tent were up, we breathed a sigh of relief and cooked some ramen noodles. Hot ramen noodles at midnight after such an ordeal can taste really good!

David is helping me toss an extension cord over a tree limb. This is where our light will hang.

Here's a cicada in it's nymph stage not long before it molts. YoungJu (Philip) found it crawling out of a hole in the ground and put it on this tree. I've seen a lot of cicada exoskeleton's but I had never seen a cicada at this life stage before.
