News From Japan - Relief Crew Serves First Hot Meal in a Month!

Our friends the Bostrom's, along with church members and volunteers, are on the road again delivering delicious hot meals to the earthquake / tsunami victims.  This time they have gone to Tagajo in Miyagi Prefecture.  The video shows what they are doing.  It was so nostalgic to see the singer there, Noboru Morishige.  We heard him sing a couple of times when we were in Japan and have him on cassette tapes at our house still.  He lives in Hawaii with his American wife and visits Japan to share the gospel through the songs he writes.  He is kind of like a Christian Harry Chapin.  He gets rather choked up later in the video as he attempts to sing.  All we see is people lining up for food.  The surrounding buildings look alright, but the singer has just traveled past miles and miles of destruction to see these people and try to reach them with his message of Christs love and forgiveness.  I just had one tree limb fall on my house and it cost a pretty penny to put things back to normal.  I can't imagine losing a whole house, or a neighborhood, or a city for that matter--much less city after city along the coast of my home country!  It would be kind of like a hard hit to the stomach, I imagine--only the pain wouldn't go away.

One gentleman who is serving food in the line flew there from the U.S. to help.  The pastor, Paul Bostrom whom you hear but can't see is explaining to some people that the gentleman still remembers his Japanese after not speaking it for 18 years.  He had left Japan when he was an elementary student.  Japan being an island nation and all means that they are amazed and appreciative when folks from other lands go to the trouble to learn their language.

Please pray for Japan.  Also, if you haven't contributed yet, I pray that God will move your heart to send a tax deductible contribution to this relief effort.  The Bostrom family and others have put their normal lives on hold while doing this.  Their income is gone as they travel to a potentially radioactive area to feed the hungry there.  This is faith showing itself through good deeds.

Thank you for even the shortest whispered prayer for them all, and may God bless you richly!
