Lisa's Birthday

These days Lisa and Heidi are spending a lot of weekends either having friends over or visiting their friends, so we decided to keep Lisa's birthday celebration simple.

These middle school years are so dramatic at times.  It's a time of gaining and losing privileges and becoming more and more responsible, and being allowed to learn from one's own mistakes.  It's so fulfilling watching her grow and mature.  It also makes me reminiscent of those days when I was 12, and spent more and more time on my hair in the morning, and became so interested in what other kids thought of me, and so on.  It's a time with a lot of strong mixed emotions, for sure.
