We were blessed with good weather for climbing Stone Mountain. The amazing thing is that Hannah (who just turned 2) insisted on climbing the thing herself. She needed help coming down but on the way up I barely helped her at all. Duk-Sun had no trouble carrying Baby S up there with her baby blanket. It is from Korean and it has straps so you can tie the baby to your back. Hank and Michelle enjoyed the climb and didn't complain. They said they are used to climbing mountains because they do it a lot with their father.

Meissen's Birthday Party

Precious
S----- is 7 weeks and 2 days old today, and we've had her for 5 weeks. Isn't she precious! I've just got to share these photos with y'all.
Oh, here's a photo taking tip. If you get this close with a camera you usually have blurry photos. The reason they turned out focused is because I used the macro feature of the camera. On my camera there is a flower icon showing when I've turned the macro feature on. It's for close-ups.

Hannah's 2nd Birthday
We are celebrating Hannah's birthday all week this week. On Saturday, we had a party at Pizza Hut (since she loves pizza) and invited her first foster family. They are very special people.
Ms. Morris has three of her own, and has taken care of 16 different foster babies. There is a new one behind her on the table next to S------. The lady on the right is her sister. I think her name is Tamisha.
This is Hannah and her friend McCaiah. She is 6 months older than Hannah. They were almost like sisters, because Ms. Morris keeps her while her mother is at work, so she and Hannah often played together.
Dillan is one more brother at the table with Hank and T.J.
Today Hannah got a special surprise visit from Gammy (Rae Lyons). Hannah was so excited to see her and appreciated her coming so much.
Later, we took the kids to WaMu to have them open savings accounts. Hannah was a lot more interested in playing with coins than in having her picture taken at this particular moment.

Thank you to Our Church Body
We are so grateful to have a church body as warm and caring as the one we are a part of now.
There has been an outpouring of generosity that has touched our hearts, and it is one in which Hannah and S----- have directly felt. It has been so cool to see God's people storing up treasures in heaven by donating their things and money to these two precious children.
We are new at raising babies and toddlers, and financially unprepared. Both children were placed in our care rather suddenly, and the timing is not ideal for us financially. I think a lot of people wait and wait and put off having children until they can "afford" them. Although we didn't wait regarding the normal way of having children--we tried for 15 years and as far as we knew, there was no medical reason we couldn't conceive. Where we did wait was regarding getting involved with DFCS, and trying to adopt a child through them. We kept hoping we would make enough money to adopt from overseas, but that never happened, and we were not getting any younger. Now we are kind of kicking ourselves for not getting involved with DFCS sooner. It is such a blessing to be a parent. It is the hardest job you'll ever love, as the slogan goes.
Anyway, seeing your generosity (not just from those who gave, but from those who pray and those who encourage us as well) helps me know that God will provide for his children.
Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!

Grandparents Meet Baby S
After an hour or so hiking at High Falls State Park, we visited Papa Jack and Grandma Shirley in Forsyth. The visit was short, but sweet. We enjoyed the hamburgers and hot dogs that Papa Jack made for us.
