I've never had a fireplace in my home and actually used it, but we got chilly and there was firewood in the backyard from the tree we got cut down so we gave it a try. The warmth was nice, and Baby S couldn't get over the thing. She loved it! But since I'm so sensitive to any kind of smoke I don't think we'll use it that often.
